Where were you born?: Queensland...beautiful
one day, perfect the next! Sadly though, it's got less going for it since
I've moved south. Still, Queensland's loss, Victoria's gain!
Who owns you?: David and Sandi Simons...well,
so I choose to let them think. Actually, I own THEM!
Tell Horsewyse about your family: Dad
is 'Peppy's Pointed Bandit', known to his mates as 'McGoo'. He's a double
cross back to King, the first quarter horse in Australia. The famous quarter
horse and cattle stud King Ranch is named after him. Mum's a lovely broodmare
who has no 'official' name. When I tell you theyÕre both fantastically handsome,
you'll understand my fabulous good looks. The genes...I'm so gorgeous it's
a crime!
OK...some vital statistics then: I'm 15.1hh
of rugged, handsome, perfectly proportioned Aussie bloke. Officially my colour
is 'Paint' but you'd reckon there'd be a more appropriate colour category
for someone so outstanding. Maybe something like 'Glorious Celestial Star
Dusted'. And as for how old I am...well, old enough (about eight as it happens).
What's your earliest memory of inter-action with
the human race?: I was shut in the stable and a bloke called a
'vet' stuck a whopping big needle in me. That was way back in Queensland,
but he's still at the top of my 'get even' list.
Who trains you?: David Simons (see also 'owned by'). If anyone
can train me, it's David...he's DA MAN!
Apart from David, who's your favourite person?:
Di Gatehouse, my regular photographer. She understands me, laughs at my tricks,
whispers sweet nothings in my ear and knows where I like to be scratched.
Besides, she has the camera and I just LOOOVE being photographed. I'm very
fond of her and she adores me to bits! I also like the gang at Horsewyse Magazine
for letting me star in so many articles every since it started five years
ago. I have SOOOO many fans now (see photo above....)
Favourite animal that's not a horse: On their day, the Costalot
Park dogs.
Some comments on your human family?: Apart
from the boss, there's Sandi, David's wife who runs David (and his business).
They have kids named Rylie and Jake who play lots of football and have ponies,
although I reckon the football is top passion at the moment. David takes them
to the footy (they barrack for Geelong) but I only listen to footy talk with
half an ear. They are a good family to have around and never let me want for
anything. All the other Costalot Park horses are happy too, particularly the
little paint filly I'm engaged to!
What's your favourite food?: If it's food
of any sort I'm for it but I'm especially fond of Copra Cool Fuel and carrots.
Do you have a favourite breed of horse?
Quarterhorses are number one, and preferably paint of course. Which just happens
to describe me...and the lovely little filly over the fence!
Favourite thing to do in the whole world:
To avoid being caught. I can't pull that stunt too often though because David
loses it and says stuff like, "Right mate, you just lost your right to
freedom!" which means I get yarded and stabled for a while. This stinks
big time 'cause hooning around the paddock is just the most FUN!
What's your ambition in life?: It's not
so much my ambition as my destiny...to be a super-star, super-cool reining
horse. And with my talent and looks, well....
How far have you gone with your schooling to this
time? I'm a fast learner but every now and again I ask the question
several times, which keeps David on his toes. Occasionally I do get into trouble
but underneath all the coltish fun I'm really really keen to do well so I
try hard.
What are your thoughts on the human race in general?: Humans are
fine as a species as long as they know and keep their place.
What thoughts do you have in the matter of equines
of the opposite sex: Oh lots and LOTS of thoughts! NOW you're asking
a decent question and I'll get back to you on that!!
